Meet Matt, our new COO!
We're thrilled to announce the latest addition to our team: Meet Matt Chan, our new Chief Operating Officer (COO) extraordinaire!
Matt's journey is as fascinating as it gets! Hailing from Perth, Matt started his career as a Geologist, spending time on drill rigs in Southern Cross. He then ventured into banking... From London to Melbourne, Hong Kong and Sydney, Matt's career took him on an exciting path, including growth, integration and transformation of international banks. He was then tapped on the shoulder to take the reigns as COO for a new digital bank to disrupt the traditional banking landscape.
In just three years as COO, Matt and the amazing 86 400 team transformed the start-up, from a mere concept with a handful of individuals into a thriving business with over 160 employees. Through a focus on scaling the business, people and fostering a strong culture, the company's exceptional growth led to a successful sale to NAB. Matt's commitment to making a difference didn't stop there. He dedicated time to supporting a charity that provides safe passage for women from Afghanistan to Australia, along with backing a small digital start-up.
Now, as our new COO, Matt will leverage his knowledge and experience to optimise our daily operations. From strategic planning and process optimisation to talent development and financial management, Matt's expertise covers all the bases. We can rest assured that idoba's performance will be elevated under his guidance.
