Hey ho - we’ve joined NAWO!
We idoban’s believe a better future is co-created. And you know what fuels cocreation? Diversity! Diverse perspectives, diverse experiences, and diverse ways of thinking are the key to unlocking the complexity of today’s operating environments and tackling gnarly challenges head on.
That’s why we’re so excited today to announce our membership with the National Association of Women in Operations (or NAWO to their friends). Like idoba, NAWO understands that diversity, equity, and inclusion positively impact business performance and they’re passionate about gender diversity being valued and balanced at every level in operations.
So who are our new friends NAWO? NAWO is a community of like-minded leaders, individuals and organisations advocating for gender balance. NAWO exists to see businesses in historically male dominated industries like mining, manufacturing, energy, supply chain, and transport and logistics drive towards more gender balanced teams at all levels. NAWO are inclusive of all identities and diversities and recognise that intersectionality must also be acknowledged and respected in this journey.
As the leading national network for women in operation, NAWO support all women* in their career by providing meaningful connections, inspiring role models, and offering development opportunities to really build and capitalise on their strengths. Through their many events, mentoring programs, site tours, professional development programs, and various forums, NAWO supports people to lead more inclusively, providing a safe space to ask questions and have conversations that help achieve greater gender balance.
idoba CEO and President Sarah Coleman is excited about the opportunity to connect with the NAWO network. “We passionately believe a better future is co-created, so connecting and collaborating with the NAWO members and allies is such a wonderful opportunity for idoba to learn and to share what we know about fostering diverse perspectives and contributions” she said.
NAWO CEO Louise Weine echoes Sarah’s excitement, saying “idoba and NAWO are a perfect match! With idoba’s decision to join our membership being fuelled by a desire to rethink, transform, and disrupt, and NAWO’s desire to see significant social change in relation to equity, I believe we will do great work together. I cannot wait to build relationships with the super people at idoba – who knows what we might co-create!”
The idoba team can’t wait to connect with and learn from the broader NAWO national network and also share a bit about our own hiccups and highlights on idoba’s path to building diverse and inclusive teams to super charge innovation and build clever solutions for the resources industry and beyond.
