idoba unleashes smart data analytics to give Perth a water-wise future

How idoba helped a water corporation understand key pressures on Perth’s water supply and co-create water-wise decision-making for a more sustainable future

At idoba we’re always ready to challenge traditional ways of thinking. So when a Perth water corporation engaged us to explore their key data and help them understand and conceptualise a better water future for local residents, we were all in.

We gathered and curated various data, like smart meter measurements and CSIRO aerial photography, to reshape our understanding of Perth’s residential water use and rethink transformative water-wise strategies.

Once we had our data, we applied breakthrough analytics to reimagine how we understand Perthsiders’ water usage. This let us co-create more efficient decisions for the people of Perth and the city’s water sources. Together, we were able to make predictions about how water is being used and make plans that would support future demand, a growing community and explore alternatives for water sustainability.

The result? Perth is more water-wise than ever before.

Together with our client, we defined and mapped bore locations, detected and managed up to 15% of invisible water leaks and reinvented and implemented more effective long-term water strategies. We paved the way for better customer communication, improved water-wise campaign management and built in tools to make better, more water-wise decisions now and into the future.

Together we’re protecting Perth and the planet.
